Once in a while there are those days
Once in a while there are those days
when everything seems wrong
and nothing seems right
And once in a while there are those days
when my limbs seem heavy
and my patience is thin
And once in a while there are those days
when my sharp brushes become moldy
and my palette knife dull
And once in a while there are those days
when I feel lost and forgotten
and happy memories become unimportant
And once in a while there are those days
when my pleas sound blaring
and silence like judgments
And once in a while there are those days
when I can’t look at people
and am blinded by loneliness
And once in a while there are those days
when the world keeps moving
and my life stays still
And once in a while there are those days
when city lights are no longer uplifting
and from my balcony I look down.
And once in a while on those once in a while days
my once in a while friend comes and finds me
with a nice note
with a pretty picture
with a silly smile
with a wink or a wave
Then, once in a while, there are those days,
when nothing seems wrong,
and everything seems right
